Madison's Stats

Madison went for her 4 month check up last week. I am a little behind because she was 19 weeks when she went. Oh well. She weighs 14 lbs 7oz and was 25 1/4 inches. She is getting SO big. She is now eating cereal and baby food. She loves the orange veggies but hates the green beans.

Monday

Memorial Day

We went over to Brad, Julie, and Anna's house (aka Madison's Sitter's house) for a cookout on Saturday. They had just recently built a beautiful deck and thought this would be a great opportunity to break it in. We had a really good time. Madison has made several friends since Julie has been watching her for me. I finally got to meet all of Madison's new friends. Madison in only 4 1/2 months and has a better social life than me and Scott.

Madison's first TWO teeth!!!

Well Madison officially has two teeth!! I can't believe it. All I could think was she's not old enough. She has been chewing on everything and I mean everything for a long time and everyone would ask if she was teething and the only answer I had was "I don't know." I guess the answer was yes after all. She turned 18 weeks last week and then came two teeth. She is growing up way too fast for me. I have tried not to blink much in the last week so that I wouldn't miss anything.

Tuesday

Who says you have to wear a bow on the top of your head?

I have to tell you the whole story on this one. Nana insisted she sit in the back seat with Madison every time we got in the car just in case she needed her for anything. Nana would always play and talk to Madison on our adventures out but this time Nana let her guard down. We were on our way to eat lunch with Mandy and Shelly (Scott's sisters) and when we got there I went to get Madison out of the car and this is what I saw. I guess Nana wasn't watching her after all. We got a really good laugh. Madison didn't even make a sound to let you know anything was wrong. I guess she was liking her new look. The picture of the band around her eyes is what I saw when we got there and the bow in front of her face is what we saw when we went to put her back in the car. I finally just took the bow off because she was having too much fun with it.

Nana came to visit!!!

Nana came to visit for the week. I think Madison REALLY enjoyed it. They went for stroller rides almost every day and went outside to discover all kinds of new things. I think it was a great bonding time for them. Madison was her usual good self so that made it nice for Nana. This was the first time she had gotten to see Madison since she was 3 weeks old. She turned 17 weeks old when she was here. Thanks again Nana for coming and helping out.

My first Mother's Day

Well I had my first Mother's Day!!! That was a wonderful feeling. We went over to Scott's sisters house and had lunch and just visited with our family. Scott's mom was here so she got to spend the day with her children and grandchildren. I had a great Mother's Day and hope you all did too!

Friday

Kids pick up on everything

I just had to share this story with everyone. I thought it was funny. I get to take Madison to Julie's house one day a week when I work 10-10. I usually get there about 15 minutes before I have to leave to go to work so I can love on her a little more. Anyway, this week when I got there I got Madison out of her seat and sat on the floor so Anna could play with Madison's seat as she does every morning. I had been there a few minutes and Anna had to find Madison's toes, nose and all other body parts that she knows. Then it was time for hugs and kisses from Anna, so she walked over and gave Madison a hug and just smiled like she had done something wonderful. Then we told her to give Madison another hug and when she walked over to hug her she reached down and squeezed Madison's diaper to see if she was wet!! We both busted out laughing because that is how we check to see if she is wet. I guess she is practicing for motherhood really early. Maybe before long Julie can teach her to change Madison's diaper. I just thought it was cute.

Monday

It has begun....

Fingers and hands in the mouth has begun. Madison has decided that her hands are her best friend. She has been chewing, sucking, and licking them for a few weeks now. She REALLY loves them. Just to get everyone up to date on us (since I have just started blogging), Madison is now 16 weeks old. I can't believe it. She has started eating cereal and adores it. She is holding her head up and looking around really well. She is interested in everything. She loves to watch our dog Macie run around but her favorite is Mommy!!! (ha ha) She loves to lay on the floor and look at her activity mat and squeal really loud at everything. She has just started to laugh and I think that is the most adorable sound. We just get tickled listening to her. I have been back at work for about 6 weeks and Madison stays with her wonderful sitter Julie. Julie has a little girl that turned 1 in Dec. so Madison goes over there 3 days a week and seems to really enjoy it. I think that gets everyone pretty much up to date. Nana is coming next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here are a few pictures of Madison and her new found friend.

Madison's First Easter

I can't believe it is May!!! Time is flying by with a little one. She is changing SO fast. I feel like if I blink really slow I am going to miss something. Well, Madison had her first Easter a few weeks ago. We went over to Scott's sisters house and had a little family time. We decided to have a picture session since everyone was dressed in their Easter outfits. Boy was that fun!! First of all we had a 2 year old that refused to get dressed and an hour later when he was dressed he was in no mood for pictures. Then you have a 3 1/2 year old that only wanted to play with his new Buzz Lightyear figure and a 12 week old that was hungry. In the mean time you are getting 4 cranky adults to throw into the mix. It was a miracle that we even got a decent picture but we did. All in all we had a really great Easter.
